ORIGIN
OF THE NAME
In March
2000, Sue Oneschuk ventured on a trip to Malaysia, a spiritual
journey, and in meditating on the purpose of the trip, the
answer Sue received was that the trip was about "receiving
love". In Sue's studies and in exploring her spirituality,
she had once heard a speaker address the fact that all religions
and churches taught people that their role in life was to
give love, although the speaker indicated that churches did
not teach people to receive love. Consequently, the world
and its people needed to be transformed in this area and grow
into accepting and receiving love, as well as giving love.
Thus, Sue went on the trip, being open to that aspect of her
growth and to be receptive to receive love. It was interesting
to her to find out, that thank you in Malaysian literally
translated is "receive my love". The Malaysian word
for "thank you" is "terimakasih". While
there, Sue kept saying "terimakasue" instead of
"terimakasih", and when corrected by her friends,
she merely chuckled and said, "Why wouldn't I say "terimakaSUE",
since my name is Sue". There was some discussion during
her visit about the possibility of Sue having her own business,
and with exploring the possibility of a name, Terimakasue
was suggested. Within months after her return home, Sue did
decide to start her own business, and choose the name "Terimakasue
Imports" for her company.
